Made from the first flush of Spring White Pekoe (Camellia Taliensis) growing in Yang Ta village in Jing Gu county. Just the bud is picked but then instead of processing like white tea it's sun-dried (like Pu-erh). These extra large buds come from Camellia Taliensis varietal and give a sweet taste and heady pungent fruit and flower aroma!

These little cakes are lightly compressed and will come apart easily with a pu-erh pick. The tea can be aged for several years and will develop honey sweetness with hints of hay over the years.

(Yunnan Baihao Silver Needle) is a premium white tea from Yunnan Province in China. It's made from tender, young tea buds, which are handpicked and carefully processed to preserve their delicate flavors. This tea is known for its light, sweet, and floral taste, with a smooth texture and subtle earthy notes. The buds are covered with fine white hairs, giving the tea its "silver needle" appearance.

It’s often considered a high-quality white tea because of its refreshing and slightly sweet character, with a gentle, soothing finish. Yunnan Baihao Silver Needle can be steeped multiple times, with each infusion bringing out different layers of flavor.

Actual colors of the tea may vary somewhat from pictured. Purchase the smallest amount to try before purchasing larger amounts.

Effects and functions of drinking Pu-erh tea

1. Aid digestion and relieve greasiness
Pu-erh tea contains rich tea polyphenols and caffeine, which can stimulate gastric juice secretion and help digestion. In addition, its degreasing properties make it an ideal tea to pair with greasy food, helping to relieve stomach discomfort.

2. Assist in reducing fat and losing weight
The active ingredients in Pu-erh tea can promote fat metabolism. Long-term drinking has a certain effect on lowering cholesterol and triglycerides in the body, so it is favored by many people who want to lose weight.

3. Assist in lowering blood sugar and blood lipids
The tea polysaccharides and fermentation products in Pu-erh tea have a certain effect on regulating blood sugar and lowering blood lipids. It is especially suitable for diabetic patients and people with high blood lipids to drink in moderation.

4. Assist in anti-oxidation and anti-aging
Pu-erh tea contains rich antioxidants, such as tea polyphenols, vitamin C, etc., which can effectively remove free radicals, delay aging, and improve immunity.

5. Assist in antibacterial and anti-inflammatory
The fermentation process of Pu-erh tea produces a large number of beneficial microorganisms. These substances have a certain inhibitory effect on gastrointestinal bacteria, which helps to improve gastrointestinal health and relieve mild inflammation.

6. Helps refresh the mind
The caffeine in Pu-erh tea can stimulate the central nervous system, help improve concentration and relieve fatigue, but the stimulation to the nerves is relatively mild and is not likely to cause palpitations.

7. Helps maintain health and nourish the stomach
Fermented Pu-erh tea is warm in nature, less irritating, and does not hurt the stomach. Moderate drinking has a protective effect on the stomach, especially ripe Pu-erh, which is more suitable for people with weak stomachs.

Important Note:
While tea offers numerous health benefits, it should not replace medications for treating diseases. It is also important to consume it in moderation, as drinking too much strong tea can cause side effects like insomnia or gastrointestinal discomfort. Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and individuals with insomnia should consult a doctor and drink the tea cautiously based on their specific conditions.

This tea is everything I love about silver needle, with an added fruitiness. Super sweet and smooth.

**NOTE: take this review with a grain of salt, I have a lot to learn about tea** It tastes slightly sweet and vegetal/green/grassy but it's really light for me. It's not bad but I wouldn't buy it again for the short term, it could be great for white tea lovers or for aging potential. If you're a white/green tea lover you might want to ignore this review as I'm a fan of golden buds/tips yunnan black tea. Please note that 3 out of 5 is not bad, I'd rate this tea 65/100 which is between "Okay" and "Wow, good!".

This is surprisingly really good quality for the price. I was able to get eight steepings out of this using 6oz of 205° F water for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. The very last steep I did for 3 minutes.

Simply a beautiful tea. I most certainly hope to order a few of these next time I place an order.

I generally like strong flavored tea, but I do like white tea, and I really couldn't say why. I've always liked it, even before getting into imported Chinese tea. This is a good variety. Perhaps a little more present than an average white tea? I generally use 3-5 grams of tea to 3 cups of water for 3 minute steep. I've found putting in a very small amount of snow chrysanthemum buds makes for a very pleasant brew.
