Dayi 7562 is a high-end Pu-erh brick tea from Dayi, featuring a moderately light fermentation. Made from tender, young leaves with fat buds, it has a subtle lotus fragrance. The brick is moderately pressed, showcasing clear, lively buds. The light fermentation gives the tea a bright red liquor, smooth, slightly sweet taste, and elastic leaf base. It’s a representative of lightly fermented Pu-erh brick tea.

Dayi’s Pu-erh teas, including varieties like Dayi 7572, 7542, 7262, 7592, 8582, 8592, 7672, and 7692, along with Menghai and Pu-erh tuocha, have long been celebrated as classic Pu-erh teas, revered by tea collectors worldwide.

Actual colors of the tea may vary somewhat from pictured. Purchase the smallest amount to try before purchasing larger amounts.

Effects and functions of drinking Pu-erh tea

1. Aid digestion and relieve greasiness
Pu-erh tea contains rich tea polyphenols and caffeine, which can stimulate gastric juice secretion and help digestion. In addition, its degreasing properties make it an ideal tea to pair with greasy food, helping to relieve stomach discomfort.

2. Assist in reducing fat and losing weight
The active ingredients in Pu-erh tea can promote fat metabolism. Long-term drinking has a certain effect on lowering cholesterol and triglycerides in the body, so it is favored by many people who want to lose weight.

3. Assist in lowering blood sugar and blood lipids
The tea polysaccharides and fermentation products in Pu-erh tea have a certain effect on regulating blood sugar and lowering blood lipids. It is especially suitable for diabetic patients and people with high blood lipids to drink in moderation.

4. Assist in anti-oxidation and anti-aging
Pu-erh tea contains rich antioxidants, such as tea polyphenols, vitamin C, etc., which can effectively remove free radicals, delay aging, and improve immunity.

5. Assist in antibacterial and anti-inflammatory
The fermentation process of Pu-erh tea produces a large number of beneficial microorganisms. These substances have a certain inhibitory effect on gastrointestinal bacteria, which helps to improve gastrointestinal health and relieve mild inflammation.

6. Helps refresh the mind
The caffeine in Pu-erh tea can stimulate the central nervous system, help improve concentration and relieve fatigue, but the stimulation to the nerves is relatively mild and is not likely to cause palpitations.

7. Helps maintain health and nourish the stomach
Fermented Pu-erh tea is warm in nature, less irritating, and does not hurt the stomach. Moderate drinking has a protective effect on the stomach, especially ripe Pu-erh, which is more suitable for people with weak stomachs.

Important Note:
While tea offers numerous health benefits, it should not replace medications for treating diseases. It is also important to consume it in moderation, as drinking too much strong tea can cause side effects like insomnia or gastrointestinal discomfort. Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and individuals with insomnia should consult a doctor and drink the tea cautiously based on their specific conditions.

New to the world of pu’er so I ordered a sampler pack and received one sample of this tea. The first thing I noticed was the strong smoky scent the tea emitted. The smokiness smelled like a campfire but also, as Scott mentioned in the video, tobacco. Very pleasant and warming. Brings to mind camping and warming myself near a fire in the midst of a forest left damp after rainfall. I found the taste to be rich and complex. Slightly sweet, bitter and astringent but all kept in perfect balance for a smooth finish.

Watching the video on this page gives the nice feeling of sitting and enjoying this tea with Scott. The danger with reviewing this tea is of course that it may encourage others to buy it and the tea could sell out! But self-interest aside, this is a delightful tea. It is a unique flavour profile so probably good to try first, but I think for fans of ripe pu-erh this one is clean, smooth and has a well-defined and very endearing flavour profile. It also feels good, like a warm blanket of benevolent cha qi, and with a fairly good lifespan. Where some aged teas start to just taste like their storage environment (nice way of saying like a damp basement) this one tastes like Scott mentions almost like a cola or something. Smokiness is very subtle and enjoyable. All in all just recommended. Great find!

My Favority pu-erh tea

In my relatively short-lived exploration of ripe puerhs, this is the first one to really stop me in my tracks. I've had a couple I really liked, but this one is top of the heap so far. It is actually complex. That is something I haven't encountered with ripes before. It also has a smokiness which I love; but it isn't overpowering. This tea has opened me up to possibly dropping money on higher priced aged raws if they are as good as this. Very much a gateway tea for me. Will definitely Buy again.

As soon as you taste this tea, it speaks loudly and distinctively to your mouth. The rich smooth smokies come through and linger nicely in your mouth. It does not tire with age and delivers its delights again and again with each rendering. An excellent tea to have in your library.
