This is by far one of my favorite teas. In the spring and summer, it is light and delicious with a cooling effect. The mouthfeel is wet and thick. As the tea ages, it becomes darker and warmer. I really find this tea to be my companion throughout the seasons. Just try it. You'll love it! |

As someone who loves quality white teas, this one is an absolute steal. The taste is quite similar to intense honey sweetness of a Bai Mu Dan, but with noticeable mineral undertones and a musky quality which is nice in the right proportion, but can overwhelm and become harsh if over-brewed. if done properly, you should get about 5-7 brews. The only draw-back is that the brew is extremely finicky. The line between too light vs overly harsh is thin, but incredibly rewarding when you get it right. My suggestion is as follows leaves: fill the brew vessel completely temperature: about what you would use for gyokuro. about 140F/60C brew time: - first brew: 2 minutes - 2nd brew: 15-20 seconds - 3rd and 4th brew: 20-30 seconds - 5th brew: 1 minute - 6th brew onward: 2 minutes |

I was sent this by a YS buyer from France who felt it was lacking in flavor. It has a lovely, sweet aroma that reminds me of the top end of gushu. In the cup, I get the top end notes of a commercial orange pekoe tea, which I was very fond of as a kid (sweet citrus). This is quite a nice tea with good, calming energy. Very smooth as well. Much better than I expected! |
