Smell: very sweet white honey, caramel, strong aroma bursting with flavor Tasting notes: sweet, berries (blueberry?), apricot, very complex 4g/100ml, 85-90C, 15s->+5s (going hotter destroys complexity) |

After getting a lower grade of this tea from YS, I decided I wanted to splurge a bit on the highest grade they offer. Visually, this tea is stunning. It looks like strands of gold thread spun into short strings. The dry leaf scent is remarkable, maybe more so than the wet leaf scent, which really surprised me. Taste wise, I really expected more malt and floral notes than I got. I’m not sure if my first taste of any Jin Jun Mei tea was just such a powerful memory that I remember it more fondly in retrospect, but I didn’t think that this grade of tea was that much more of an upgrade from the lower grade for the price. Don’t get me wrong, the tea is quite tasty and will not be a disappointment in the global sense, it just didn’t seem like it was worth the price jump. |

Really tasty tea. Loved the smell. The bag was empty way too quickly. |

One of my favorite teas from YS right now. But beware, it's so flavorful it might ruin your palate for other subtler teas!!! Even if that were true it'd be worth it. |
