Sweet and fruity. Love how the sweetness of the shou mei is influenced by the sour/sweet of the orange rind! Very unique and different from King Orange Pu-erh (also sold on this site)! Thanks for the free sample!

I ordered the smallest amount available, which translated to six king oranges. Having tried all other varieties of orange teas Scott has on offer, I guessed that I would like these, too. I broke one orange in half and brewed it in my silver gaiwan. What struck me first, was how tightly compressed the leaves are. I would recommend pouring the water directly onto the tea as well as pushing steeping time a little bit during the first couple of steeps to get best results. I found the tea to be very citrussy, which I like. One the leaves ad decompressed, it turned out that the content of the orange was entirely whole leaf. All in all a delicious treat with high quality Shou Mei which is highly recommended.
