Slightly smoky, hints of caramel and good depth of oolong flavours make this a very enjoyable tea. If you like oolong with complex flavours, you will find this a refreshing and delicious tea. |

The trend in the past decade or so has been for greener tie guan yins, but if you're looking for an old fashioned TGY, this is a good example of the style. The fragrant notes come through, but are mellowed and deepened by a rich charcoal pine roast. It isn't sharply smoky, like a lapsang, but instead smooth with a sort of mineral-y quality and a lingering sweetness. A very nice afternoon tea. |
