Light, but well balanced taste, with a buttery note. Nice mouthfeel with long lasting sweet aftertaste. The sides of my tongue "tingle" well after drinking the tea. Great bang for the buck! |

Dry leaf has a lovely smell of vegetable tempura, wet leaf aroma paints a scene of light fruits surrounded in humid lush green jungle. Flavor is quite simple, light aparagus or spinach cooked in oil, light bitterness and astringency at 181F for around 25 seconds in the 100ml gaiwan. An overall light and pleasant tea. It reminds me that simple can be beautiful. |

This is a great example of a tippy high-mountain green tea, and this particular grade that Yunnan Sourcing has is very good. Sweet vegetable notes, bright and refreshing, with a bit of umami. If you like greens, this Mao Feng makes a great affordable daily drinker. |
