Just enough smokiness and mellow balance. Surprisingly light and not overpowering liquor.

Warn dry nose is like opening the cover on smoked ribs. Meaty, smokey, and sweet. First steep is a little smoky, but pleasantly so. Taste is like Lagavulin with a few drops of water to let it bloom. Bitter chocolate aftertaste with a lingering almost citrus floral sweetness. Empty cup smells of chocolate. I really like this tea and it made a nice pairing with an unsmoked chocolaty lapsang I had earlier in the day.

The 1st steep is nice and smoky, like a campfire, and only the tiniest bit overpowering on your first sip. Great after that. 2nd steep is less smoky, but definitely still there. More flavors start peeking their heads into the room becoming noticeable. From the 3rd steep and beyond it's still smoky, but balanced well with the other flavors. A little nutty and fruity sweet. Generally a light flavored tea. A little nutty and fruity with that smoky flavor added during the roasting/drying process. Great tea for multiple steeps throughout the day. P.S. - A good tip to enjoy this tea is to try rinsing the leaves with cold water for 10 seconds before the 1st steep. This reduces the smokiness. You may enjoy it more this way until you learn to appreciate the smoke. That's what I did, but to each their own! Enjoy!
