Smooth Wuyi. Subtle vanilla, cigar flavor with a peachy aftertaste. |

Has a very domineering coacao aroma. The flavor itself almost occupies a spectrum from a werthers hard candy to hickory smoke going from the tip of the tongue to the back of the mouth. |

A dark oolong, has a dark golden/reddish color. Has a strong fragrance and a very strong deep flavor. Very soothing and good for a cold day. |

I love this tea, and it is a nice quality for the price. The liquor is a nice golden color, and you can see the leaves are mostly oxidized. The dry leaf smells like chocolate and strawberry jam. The green smell is detectable and is very similar to the green smell of other wuyishan oolongs I have tried, it comes out like a humid cave, but it is not an off-scent. Overall, it has a similar malty-caramel taste and smell as other dark oolongs, it is like burnt marshmallows or sweet potato fries in this, but it is unique in its strong qi, fresher smells and tastes (though they aren't quite like those of green teas), and a cup fragrance that wanders around a bit. The fresh taste and smell I described is the mineral taste yanchas are famous for, and a bit of a humid, bean sprout taste. The cup fragrance is very suprising, it went from caramel, to bean sprout, to strawberry jam and powdered sugar. The taste is pretty uniform with the smell of the lid and liquor, it was malty, sweet, fresh, smooth (it really felt impossible to make this tea bitter), and complex. My favorite part is still the qi, I feel a complete sense of calm drinking this tea. Pretty awesome. |
