The wet leaves have a nice creamy sweet scent. The flavor is creamy, sweet, and very perfumy. Once I finish my current teas, this will definitely be something that I will order in the future. |

Luscious and buttery mouthfeel, this tea has definitely had a luxurious quality. There’s also a contrasting flowery-citrus zing reminiscent of other black tea made from purple tea. |

Wonderful tea! Amazingly exotic (for me) deeply flavorful and a wonderfully floral aroma. Enjoying this tea brings one closer to other dimensions. |

Let me preface this by saying that I don't usually leave reviews for teas: I was thoroughly impressed by this purple Da Hong Pao. I am an experienced yancha drinker (mostly drink only puerh and yancha -- I do make a few exceptions during spring). While this is not a traditional tasting yancha and doesn't have a very strong yan yun, it makes up for it with an amazingly fragrant, sweet, and complex but balanced flavor. It's also more infusable than most Da Hong Paos I have had. The tea is also very affordable, which is always great (for a quality Wu Yi oolong, that is). Really enjoying this one, it's a nice change from my usual teas. I was not planning on ordering Yancha from YS but I might try some more samples because of this pleasant surprise. Will definitely order more with my next order. |
