I presented this tea at a public workshop. I gave very little instruction on tasting notes so people could be original in their response. After I explained that theanine can taste either sweet or umami, one person said, “Yeah! This tastes like a tide pool!” It’s true in the best way. Very unusual and delightful for an oolong to be this umami rather than sweet.

This is a very fragrant tea. I reserve this one for Sunday afternoons.

Although it's a "fancy" grade I expected somewhat more from this tea. The Tie Guan Yin typical flavor is there but intensity is so and so and after the second steep there's not much left. Quality/price ratio though is fair in my opinion.
