I bought the mesh strainer as an addition to my gongfu tea set. It is built really well and is easy to clean. The quality is 10/10. The strainer also fits over many sizes of my tea cups. I would say, however, that the necessity of this accessory is dependent on the quality of the tea you buy. After one rinse with a decent quality tea, there are mostly big leaves left. The gaiwan itself does a good job of filtering out the leaves.

Lived for so many years with inadequate 'large mesh' strainers, until finding this. Not only is the mesh super-fine, there are two layers! No more picking leaves out of the mesh in regular strainers. IMO, Yunnan Sourcing should recommend this strainer to every customer as a matter of course - I had pretty much given up on finding a good strainer until I happened to stumble across this on the site.
