I bought it with other Tie Guan Yin to make comparisons. It is very interesting. To my taste, it is a pity to lose so much floral content from the unroasted Tie Guan Yin. But it's worth comparing.

1-2 boiling chocolate. then it ends. The acidity of the lungs of oolongs, the taste typical of the base of the roasted tie Kuan Yin. A little well burned taste. Raw material of good quality. Taste is complex, for the fan of this tea. Not too saturated. Difficult, multilateral. . expensive. tea for the fan. no smooth no creaminess. complicated tea.

It's hard for me not to compare this to other teas, as my entire tasting experience is based off those teas, but I have this "ideal" of what Tieguanyin should taste like. That holds true for light, medium, and dark roasts, and this one doesn't quite hold up to what an "ideal" dark roast should taste like. This tea has a wonderful pumpkin-like taste in the first few steeps that mingles well with notes of cocoa and a hint of syrup, but it's always overshadowed by a citrus-like taste that doesn't fully fit well with the tea. As steeps continue, the citrus flavor starts to overpower the notes of the earlier steeps, and all that is left is a citrus-like taste overshadowed by a tase reminiscent more of the "aroma" of the tea. For $10.00/50g though, it's pretty nice, and i feel every tea has its use. As a daily drinking TGY, this would certainly be a good tea, but it isn't something i'd take out for a gathering.
