I agree with just about the entire description of this tea on the YS site. It’s rich yet mellow and has a fascinating sweet/spicy flavor, with a little mushroomy earthiness but little or no wet-aged taste. Delicious — can’t get enough of it! I’m fairly new to raw pu-erh, but of the 20-25 teas I’ve sampled so far this was the first that inspired me to buy a cake.

Slightly contrary to the description, I find that this is much more tightly packed than a typical YS-own cake. It also brews a much darker colour than just about any other in my collection. 1st time I brewed it I did it based on colour and the resulting brew was insipid and disappointing. Leaving it to the orange/amber colour described above gives a very satisfying, deep and heady brew. The price is good, especially given it's a 500g cake!

CNNP 8891 is a great investment for the everyday tea drinker. Sweet and smooth from age, don't be afraid to hit this tea with 210 F. High cha qui, this tea is great for noon-time to keep your day rolling strong through the night. Also, large cake for low price! Best purchase from YS so far.

Well received, after the taste...

Little astringency on this one. Citrus, spicy and cream are the dominant notes. Very balanced and savory cake. Brewed in a low profile 120mL zhuni pot.
