Just an incredibly complex and robust Pu-erh tea also an incredible long-lasting caffeine Rush |

Title says it all, but I keep coming back and ordering more of these. They brew up nice, dark, and rich at a good price point. |

I purchased 10 of these in October 2019 but life happened and they've been resting since then. I started brewing/steeping this at work a few weeks ago using a ZENS Travel Tea Set and I must say they are really good. I get no bitterness which I prefer, just a nice earthy flavor (no IPAs for me either :-) ). You can steep this light or dark. My first and second brews are usually on the lighter side as the tao "chunk" opens up. Then darker in the middle once it has and finally lighter at the end. I agree with recommendation to try to break these into chunks. It may help to allow the tao several days to absorb ambient humidity to help soften it. |

I've bought more of this Ripe Pu-erh than any other from Yunnan Sourcing...kilos and kilos. I brew it for 4 minutes because that was how I was taught, both in the US and in Yunnan. At 4 minutes, it brews up blacker than coffee. I love the depth and complexity of this tea because it engages me in lots of different ways. I've never been interested in describing what a tea tastes like cause it appeared to be too much of a mental process when what's interested me the most was how the tea was engaging me energetically, how it was affecting me. Obviously, I love the taste: the deep, dark, intense richness, sure, but this one brings me a point of stillness unlike any other. |
