Nicely aged, sweet, creamy and thick shu pu-erh, wonderful aroma. Really love this tea!

Well done tea

This was my first experience drinking pu-erh, and I am beyond pleased. This tea is like drinking the dreams of a sleeping earth giant, awakening the senses and drawing you down into the earth. Huang Jin Gui, for comparison, is like breathing a cool mountain wind on a misty spring morning, but this golden melon embraces you like a gentle titan, unspoken years filling your core; it really makes you feel at one with the earth.

Very dense little tuo. This little thing did not give way to my Pu-erh pick. Reminded me of Rupi Kaur, quote from Milk and Honey “I am water soft enough to offer life tough enough to drown it away” Well…It was my first time breaking a tuo with Leatherman sidekick multitool! 7 grams with 110 ml of boiling water. Very tippy looking shou wet leafs that started smelling like an old basement and my flash rinse came out pretty dark and thick. The first steeping flavors are light with a hint of sweetness not at all fishy. The second steep is even thicker with the oily consistency and as dark as an espresso shot. Light wood notes mixed with white pepper and sweetness at the backend. A very cool little gem!

Excellent sweet tasting and not too overwhelming with the usual musty taste.
