Anxi Tie Guan Yin is a traditional Chinese tea, classified as an oolong tea. It originates from Xiping Town in Anxi County, Quanzhou, Fujian Province, and was discovered between 1723 and 1735. Tieguanyin refers both to the tea itself and the tea plant variety. The brewed tea is known for its distinctive "Guanyin charm," featuring a natural orchid aroma, rich taste, and long-lasting fragrance.

There are several legends about the origin of the name "Tie Guan Yin". One popular story tells of Wei Yin, a tea farmer from Songyan Village in Xiping Town during the Qianlong Emperor's reign in the Qing Dynasty. He reportedly dreamed of the Bodhisattva Guanyin guiding him to a special tea plant. Upon discovering and processing it, he found the tea to be exceptionally fragrant and flavorful, so he named it "Tieguanyin" (Iron Guanyin) in honor of the Bodhisattva.

Today, Anxi Tie Guan Yin is celebrated for its unique aroma, smooth taste, and deep cultural significance, making it a treasured gem in Chinese tea culture.
